Hunter Prescott’s quest to claim Excalibur continues with Boom Studios’ refreshing treasure hunting adventure comic, Hunter’s Fortune #2.
Last issue Prescott was whisked away from his down and dull life only to be informed his long lost rich uncle left him millions! Ala Brewster’s Millions, the uncle left Hunter with an ultimatum - find the one artifact he was never able to and keep the money -- or lose everything!
The race is on as Hunter is not the only one searching for the Arthurian weapon. The Ex-wife is in the picture and will do whatever it takes to stop him and his fellow fortune hunters (pun intended!). The young naïve group sets off to Tibet in search of clues only to find themselves looking down a barrel of a gun! Not only that, as more mysteries are revealed, with an ornamental piece of jade and an enigmatic map holding the answers.
This is a darn fun series so far. Quite enjoyable to read and one that reads very “smoothly” - meaning the interaction and dialogue between the characters is spot on. Last issue I compared to the National Treasure movies, with this one I might want to add a little bit of the Dan Brown novels.
Once again, I have to give props to the creative team of Cosby, Monroe and Cossin. Hunter’s Fortune #2 is a vibrant, enjoyable and certainly entertaining book. Definitely worth looking into!
